She was born on May 30, 1914 in Thornton, Arkansas, the daughter of Henry Taylor Evans and Myrtle Eunice Underwood Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Pate; her parents; five brothers, Curtis Evans, O’Dell Evans, J.R. Evans, R.J. Evans and Seville Evans; and three sisters, Audry Johnson, Dorothy Forrest and Rachel Evans.
She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Anabel Evans of Hot Springs; twenty-one grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lena Evans Carr of Jersey, Arkansas and Christine Evans Carpenter of Warren, Arkansas and Lavern Evans of Lasiter, Arkansas; nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
