Clifford N. Snyder, 83, of Creston, Wirt County, died Sunday, April 22, in the Riverview Rest Home in Vienna, following a long illness.
He was born in Creston, June 3, 1878, a son of the late David and Rachel Merrill Snyder, and spent his entire life in Creston and was a barber there for 50 years. He retired in 1960.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Cora Icenoggle and a brother, George Snyder.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rosa L. Snyder; a son Orval L. Snyder, Parkersburg; a brother, Ira C. Snyder, Creston; three grandsons, Billy, Loy and Donald Snyder, all of Parkersburg; three great-grandchildren, Judy, Joyce and Randall Snyder, all of Parkersburg; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the McCray Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with the Rev. Ray Shears officiating. Burial was in the Creston (Snyder) Cemetery.
