Amelia "Amy" Marquette, 70, of Petoskey, died Nov. 18, 1995, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Lintz Funeral Home, Indian River. The Rev. Richard Hooker of the Topinabee Community Church officiated, and burial was in Burt Mullett Township Cemetery.
Mrs. Marquette was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Detroit, the daughter of John and Anna Poniewerski. She grew up in the Detroit area and attended Nolan Elementary School in Detroit.
In February 1947, she married Kenneth Marquette in Detroit, and he survives.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Marquette lived in Livonia for 30 years. In 1977, they bought a home at Liberty Point on Mullett Lake and moved there permanently in 1986. Mrs. Marquette became very active with The Friends of the Library in Topinabee. She was also active in the Topinabee Community Church.
She enjoyed needlework and crafts, and was a member of the Topinabee Community Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ken; two sons, Gary of Walls, Miss., and John and his wife, Susan, of Grand Rapids; one daughter, Patricia Christie and her husband, Gary, of Florida; grandchildren, Lori, Gary, Nicole,
Kristen and Kenneth; great-grandchild, Brittany; and one brother, Edward Poniewerski, of Sterling Heights.
