Family folklore tells that he was found killed on the side of the road near his home on Little Onion Creek, Byrd ,Texas.
Also, that when his burial was to take place he was carried by wagon as was the transportation in those days, the road was boggy muddy and that they had to bury him as close as they could get to this cemetery,GradyCemetery,its our understanding the grave is outside the cemetery,any information that anyone might know as to where this grave is exactly would so very much be appreciated..
Wylie Josiah Patterson was born on November 29,1846.
Died March 1,1890.
He was married to Mary Elizabeth Wear and had 4 sons and 2 daughters at the time of his passing.
