Tammy Lee Abernathy age 53 of Cheboygan passed on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Tammy was the daughter of Shirley (Fenlon) Neelis and the late Leonard Neelis. On February 14th, 1985 Tammy married her best friend Shane Abernathy.
She loved spending her summer weekends on the lake boating and camping. Tammy had a love for ladybugs and playing euchre, bunco and poker with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Shane, three children Amanda Abernathy, Jason (Sarah) Abernathy, and Shawn (Mary) Abernathy, eight grandchildren Ashlyn Berg, Issac, Madison, Russell and MaKayla Abernathy, Anthony, Owen and Logan Abernathy, her mother Shirley Neelis, nine siblings, Debbie (Dave) Berden, Vickie (Pete) Huyck, Peggy Neelis (Jiggs), Karen Serra (Chris), Becky (Sam) Beck, Tina Umbarger, Greg Neelis, Mike Neelis and Todd Neelis and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son Justin and her father Leonard Neelis.
Tammy was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many people and she will truly be missed.
A memorial service will be held Thursday May 24th at 2:00pm at the Benton Township Hall with Gary Fenlon officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
