He married Lilah Bott Oct. 28, 1956, in La Crosse. A lifelong resident of Rush Center, he worked as a telephone lineman for Golden Belt Telephone until he retired in 1996.
Hallett was a past member of Bakers Memorial portsman Club of La Crosse. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Kristi Miller and her husband, Mike Miller of La Crosse; one brother, Gene Hallett of Great Bend; four sisters, Lois Holopirek of Timken, Dotty Kober of Rush Center, Norma Kelley of Lawrence and Charlotte Peters of La Crosse; and two grandchildren, Callie Miller and Shane Miller, both of La Crosse.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in La Crosse, with the Rev. Marilyn Christmore officiating. Burial will be at La Crosse City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse
