Marilyn Moses, 72, of Toledo, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at her home while in the care of her family and Iowa River Hospice.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 8th, at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Marshalltown with Pastor Duane Moraine officiating. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown.
Marilyn Ann Martin was born on November 1, 1937, in Lucas, Iowa. She was the daughter of Louis and Gladys (Long) Martin. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1955. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Drake University in 1967. On June 8, 1957, Marilyn married Robert Moses in Woodward, Iowa.
Marilyn was employed with South Tama County School System for 34 years as an elementary school teacher. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Marshalltown and was also Women's Ministry Leader and a Sunday school teacher there. She was a member of Tama-Toledo Kiwanis. She loved teaching, her church work, playing piano and gospel music.
Left to cherish her memory are Robert, her loving husband of 53 years, children: Jayne (Bob) Ahlbrandt of Vernon Hills, IL and Lori (Bobby) Grant of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, her grandchildren Tom Ahlbrandt, Joe Ahlbrandt, Aaron Grant and Blake Grant, siblings: Kay (Jerry) Todd of West Des Moines, Bill (Cathi) Martin of Marshalltown, Iowa, Bob (Sandra) Martin of Columbus Junction, Iowa, and Karen Martin of Columbia, MO, as well as several nieces, nephews, her church family and a host of friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Gladys Martin and Brother Jackie Martin.
Funeral services for Marilyn Moses, 72, of Toledo, were held Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Faith Assembly of God Church in Marshalltown, with Pastor Duane Moraine officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Collins.

Pallbearers were Tom Ahlbrandt, Joe Ahlbrandt, Aaron Grant, Blake Grant, Brad Moses and Tony Moses.

Groups in attendance were from Iowa River Hospice, Marshalltown Kiwanis, Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce, Faith Assembly of God Church and South Tama County School System.
