MACOMB - Dorothy M. Adams, 94, of Macomb, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was born March 7, 1913, in Harrisburg, the daughter of Arthur R. and Lura E. Marriott Holliday. She married John Adams Jr. on Feb. 12, 1937, in Springfield, and he survives.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Springfield, a 50-year member of Lalla Rookh Chapter 218 Order of the Eastern Star and the Lincoln Land Depression Era Glass Club.
She took great pride in being a homemaker. Caring for her family was her legacy. She loved reading, sewing, traveling and antiques, especially glassware.
Surviving are her husband, John; their daughter, Marilyn (husband, Jim) Keeney of Macomb; two granddaughters, Jennifer (husband, David) Ludwig of Geneva and Lisa (husband, Tim) Albrecht of Coal Valley; three great-grandchildren, Ava Ludwig and Carson and Molly Albrecht; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Thelma.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Road, where cremation rites were accorded. A private family burial will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McDonough County Animal Shelter of Macomb or a charity of the donor's choice.
