Flora, as she was called, was born on June 24th 1906 in Taos, New Mexico to Ambrosio & Flora Cardenas. She was 100% Navajo Indian. On 7 September 1931, She married Jose Duran Sr in Taos, where they lived for a few years. Eventually, Joe took a Job in Wyoming, ranching, and brought the family up from NM, to Cokeville.

The couple had five sons, Ambrose Duran of Cokeville, WY, Fred "Ferdie" (Joy) Duran of Nampa, Arthur "Ernie" Duran (deceased), Joe (Polly) Duran of Bear River, UT, Tony (Sue) Duran of Loveland, CO; two daughters, Rose (Elbert) Harmon of Cokeville, WY and Mary Iverson of Vernal, UT; & numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Flora & Jose (Joe) were married 71 years at the time of his death in 2002.

She passed away July 6, 2004, at her home in Nampa, Idaho of natural causes. Her funeral was at the historic St Dominics Catholic Church in Cokeville, WY on 13 July 2004. It would have been her son Ernie's 62nd birthday.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose E. Duran in 2002, one son, Arthur Ernest "Ernie" Duran in 1972, one son-in-law, Kelly Iverson in 2003 and one great-grandson, Eric Sweet in 2002.

Grandma Duran was a fantastic cook, and a loving grandma. She is loved & missed...
