The many friends of C. A. Baldwin of the Brunswick Hotel will sympathize with him in the loss of his aged father who passed to his eternal home Sunday morning last, Feb. 21, in Red Wing. The Red Wing Daily Republican of Monday contained
the following obituary notice:
H. B. Baldwin, one of the pioneer residents of this city, died at 6 o'clcok Sunday morning, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Ringstrom, corner of Fulton and Fourth streets. The deceased was 90 years of age and has been gradually failing for some time through old age and general debility. He was born in Woodbridge, Conn., April 15, 1814, and came to Minnesota on April 7, 1857, and has ever since made this city his home. He was quite unobtrusive citizen, a capable business man and an indulgent father. His economy and strict attention to business brought him remunerative returns and his latter years were passed in comfortable circumstances.
Four sons and one daughter survive him. They are D. M. Baldwin and Mrs. Ida J. B. Ringstrom of this city; I. E. Baldwin of Madison, S. D., C. A. Baldwin of Faribault, and J. B. Baldwin of Minneapolis.
The funeral will take place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ringstrom, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. O. O. Bernstein of Minneapolis, assisted by Rev. J. W. Hancock, will officiate.
