Paul W. Bennett, 97, of Thawville passed away Tuesday (May 22, 2012) at the Piper City Rehab and Living Center.

He was born April 3, 1915 in Kankakee, the son of Jay C. and Florence Simpson Bennett. He married Violetta A. Crawford on Feb. 15, 1939 in Paxton. She preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Opal Black.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Bennett of Chicago; one son, Rodger Bennett of Thawville; one grandson, Jay (Beth) Bennett of Rantoul and one great-granddaughter, Kinzie Violet Bennett.
