Sophie, better known as Sally, was born in Washington to Antone and Bernice Zaikowski. She moved to Portland as a young girl finding work in austere economic times. Sally worked hard all of her life and maintained a meticulously groomed yard and home. She married Kenneth Andrew Fudge in l937. Although he died in 1989, he was always the love of her life.
She is survived by her brother, George Zaikowski, and numerous nieces and nephews, a number being in the "great-great" generation. Sally lives in the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at St. Therese Church (1260 NE 132, Portland, OR) on Monday May 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Internment will occur immediately thereafter at Willamette National Cemetery.
