Died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Baton Rouge General Hospital. She lived with a daughter, Mrs. Eddie J. Thibodeaux at 1226 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge. A native of Galvez, she lived in Baton Rouge since 1920. She was 84. Body at Welsh Funeral Home. Religious services at Welsh Parlors at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. William J. Berry and the Rev. Robert F. Beckham, interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be four grandsons, Bonnie Achord, John Conrad Achord, Michael Thibodeaux and William E. Green, and two nephews, Norman Nickens and Isaac Dixon. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. She was the widow of Joseph M. Achord of Baton Rouge, and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Seborn Nickens of Galvez, and is survived by two sons, Bonnie B. Achord and John A. Achord, both of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Hubert of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Emile (Odeal) Blank and Mrs. Eddie J. (Julie) Thibodeaux, both of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a member of Henry Watkins Allen Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
