David "Red" Curtis Anderson, 77, of Bat Cave went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2010.
Red was born in Baxley, Georgia on December 20, 1932, the son of the late Jeff and Beulah Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ed Anderson and Andy Anderson, and his sister, Edna Davis.
Red was a proud veteran of the Navy and served aboard the USS Rochester during the Korean War.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was faithful to his church and community. Red always went out of his way to help those in need. He ministered to his church family for many years as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon at Bat Cave Baptist Church.
In the early 1970s, Red was instrumental in helping to start the Bat Cave Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chief for over 25 years.
