Mrs. Sandra D. Lay
Mrs. Sandra D. Lay, 60, of Fairmount died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at her residence.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., on May 17, 1944, daughter of the late Frazier and Juanita Griffith Daugherty. She had lived in Gordon County since 1969 where she taught school at Fairmount for 34 years. She was a member of North Georgia Christian Center.
Survivors include her husband, Harry H. Lay, Jr. of Fairmount; a son, Hal Lay of Cartersville; mother-in-law, Juanita Lay of Fairmount; and a sister-in-law, Jane Voinche of Cedartown.
Funeral was Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home, with Dr. Bruce "Skip" Lee and the Rev. Bert Love officiating. Interment followed in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers included Dave Brooks, John Early, Andy Noles, Dave Lee, John Steele, and R.L. Mathis. Betty Mathis was in charge of music.
Thomas Funeral Home of Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
