Abraham Brokaw was born and reared near Wapakoneta, Auglaise Co., Ohio. Abraham, later on went to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was employed, as a salesman for the Commonwealth Finance Corp., whose headquarters were in New York City. While there he studied for the ministry, and became a prominent Methodist Minister, of Columbus and Dayton, Ohio, under the Methodist Conference, for 40 yrs. Rev. Brokaw went to California and he died at Alameda.
