Harvey D. Jordan, 73, passed away at his home in Coeur d'Alene, Dec. 26, 2008. He was born April 5, 1935, in Jamestown, N.D., to Allen and Rosetta (Palmer) Jordan. He was the youngest of 13 children. His family moved to Idaho in 1936 and eventually bought a farm near Rathdrum. He attended Gonzaga Prep and Gonzaga University until illness interrupted his education. Harvey worked at Clare-Pendar/General Instruments, AID, Itron, Pacific Clutch and Brake, Center Partners at Post Falls, and he taught drafting/tolerance classes at NIC several years ago.

Harvey was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the NRA and a charter member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery.

He is survived by his wife, Irene, and her daughters, Janice White and Wendy Hamblin and their families, and his stepdaughter, Cindy Panattoni and her children from his marriage to Louise Vedder. He is also survived by three brothers, Leslie, Ralph and Arnold; and three sisters, Hazel, Patty and Lloy. Harvey was preceded in death by brothers, Bud and Garth, and sisters, Mary, Rosella, Delores and Blanche; and his best friend and son-in-law, Larry Panattoni.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Community Presbyterian Church, 417 N. William St. in Post Falls. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at the Cancer Center, as well as his faithful friends and neighbors who showed us all much love and support, and a special thanks to Hospice of North Idaho for helping us through this transition. The family would prefer memorial donations to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835 or the Cancer Center c/o KMC Foundation, 2003 Lincoln Way, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.
