Thursday last week at 10 p.m., Emmett I Hamby, 60 last August 5, passed away after a sickness that had confined him to his room for several weeks.
Funeral services were held in the Christian church Saturday forenoon with services conducted by Judge C E Snodgrass and burial in the City cemetery.
Mr Hamby had been suffering for some months with high blood pressure, but the last few weeks dropsy developed and he suffered greatly.
He had been a man of many occupations, having farmed most of his life, but had managed a planing mill, worked at the blacksmith trade and numerous other things which, on the whole, rendered him an individual capable of much diversity in employment.
All his life he had been a quiet citizen and a kind neighbor. He had a high respect for obedience to the law.
He leaves a wife; 4 sons living, Edgar, Horace, Lawrence, Earl; and 1 daughter, Mrs Lee Flynn. One son, Lester, was killed more than a year ago in an automobile accident in California.
He was the son of Thomas Franklin Hamby and Lydia E Hassler.
