For nearly half a century he has been a resident of this village; active in business; active in his profession; active in the affairs of his church, as a member of its consistory for many years: and an ardent and enthusiastic member of the Grand Army of the Republic, to which body he belonged by reason of distinguished service in the Union Army during the war between the States.
