After a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and friends, Thomas went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2012. He was born June 13, 1931 in Charleston, Wast Virginia. He was a long time resident of Shreveport. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years as a Sergeant First Class. He served as a field medic in the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Harry F. Nolte and Ruth Marie Nolte Mills, and daughters, Ruth Ann Nolte Lester and Sheila Kay Nolte Tims.
His loving and kind personality will be missed by his wife of 49 years; son and wife; daughter and husband; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving and faithful sitter, who loved her "Papa Bear" very much. She was with him at home and hospitals for the last 2 years. Also her three children will miss their "Papa Bear" as well.
Long time friend of the family and fishing partner, Eric Aple and wife, Sloane and daughter, Ragan will miss him very much. He will also be missed by his five dogs, who stayed by his bed side at all times.
