Herve R. Adams, 78, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at his home in Indian River with his family by his side. Herve was born to Bernice (Mills) and Charles Ollie Adams on March 21, 1933 in Flint, MI. He grew up in Flushing, MI and graduated from St. Roberts Catholic School.
He was inducted into the US Army and served in Germany for two years. Upon his discharge from the Army, Herve went back to complete his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker, until the call of northern Michigan was too strong. He moved to Indian River and built the home that he shared with his second wife, Toni Adams.
Herve had been employed as a tool and die maker for Lunds Manufacturing in Cheboygan and McLaughlin Manufacturing in Petoskey. He retired from Standard Products in Gaylord.
Herve loved to hunt, fish and trap. He was devoted to his catholic faith and was a member of the Cross in the Woods Catholic parish in Indian River.
He is survived by his wife, Toni; several step children, nieces and nephews; brother, Chuck (Marge) Adams; sister in laws, Genevieve (Robert) Jaworski and Martha (Denny) Carlin and his best friend, Larry (Judy) Hope.Age 75. US Army veteran.
