Mrs. Clara Alice Walls, 80, a resident of West Avenue in Columbia, died Wednesday, April 28 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walls will be conducted Friday, April 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Matt Yuhas and Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Willie Augustus and Callie Olivia Smith Stanfill and widow of Ervin Walls. She was the retired owner and operator of Walls Grocery in the Kedron Community and former employee of E.I. Dupont Corporation and Washington Manufacturing. She was member of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 Ladies Auxiliary and the Sharp’s Corner Church of Christ.

She is survived by a two sisters, Brownie Cheatham and George Ann Thurman, both of Columbia; two brothers, Jack (Betty) Stanfill of Mt, Juliet, TN and William “Whitey” (Pat) Stanfill of Trenton, MI; a step-daughter, Judy (Bob) Shackelford of Mt. Pleasant; a step-son, Jerry (Sharon) Walls of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora B. Lindsey and Tommie Stanfill and a brother, J.D. Stanfill.
