Bobbie G. Holmes
Piedmont - Mrs. Bobbie G. Holmes, 74, of Piedmont, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Piedmont Healthcare Center. A native of Piedmont, Alabama, Mrs. Holmes was born on October 5, 1937, the daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle Hooper Gossett. She was an active member of Asberry Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Norton. Mrs. Holmes was a housewife and homemaker, and worked in the retail industry until her retirement. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, William L. Holmes; two sons, Rodney (Matha), of Centreville, and David Holmes, of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Jarrod Holmes, of Madison, Whitney Holmes, of Tuscaloosa, and Hillery Holmes, of Spring Garden; one brother, Paul A. Gossett, of Fort Worth, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Asberry Baptist Church with the Reverend William Cain officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior at Asberry Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Piedmont. .Published in The Anniston Star on May 27, 2012
