SANDUSKY - Maribel J. Brown, age 61, of Sandusky, died late Friday, July 31, 2009 at Providence Care Center in Sandusky.
She was born February 26, 1948 in Norwalk, where she attended St. Paul High School and graduated in 1966 from Western Reserve High School. She attended the Ohio Business College, and graduated from the Mid-Ohio Practical Nursing Program in Mansfield as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1968. She worked at Firelands Community Hospital, Gaymont Nursing Center, Toledo Hospital and also a hospice nurse.
She was a member of the Sandusky AmVets and enjoyed horseback riding, flower gardening, sewing, crocheting, canning food and genealogy.
She is survived by her sisters, Ellen (Gary) Petee of Clayton, GA, Julie (Parker) Montgomery of Bellevue and Kathy Kaman of Castalia; brothers, John (Kathy) Riggleman of Powell, OH, Michael (Janet) Riggleman of St. Cloud, FL and Robert (Christine) Riggleman of Norwalk; special friend and caregiver, Chuck Graves of Sandusky; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert G. and Beatrice I. (Boose) Riggleman; and a brother, Mark Riggleman in 2000.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 – 8 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The Rev. Eric Mueller, associate pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
