Ethel was born in Fort Bayou, MS.
She was one of the original teachers at County Line school (later to become d'Iberville school), along with her 3rd cousin, Ms. Barbara Seymour.
She was one of the founders of the Methodist church on Race Track Rd. in d'Iberville, and a long time member of the Crochet Club in d'Iberville.
Granny was educated and well read. She did cross word puzzles, and played scrabble, and chinese checkers. Every spring she put out her lilly bulbs. She cooked all the local favorites, red beans, file' gumbo, fried chicken, all served with rice and "the best" iced tea. Granny was a compassionate, kind and loving lady. Kid was her great love, she never got over losing him. She had a joyful laugh and always made her grandchildren feel special.

Ethel is the Great-Great Granddaughter of Juan "Jose" Francois de Cuevas (1762-1849) from Seville, Andalucia, Spain, and Marie Helene Ladner (1767-1853) from Cat Island, MS.

She is the 5th Great Granddaughter of Sier Jean Baptiste Baudreau dit Graveline I (1671-1762) from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Emashapa Panyousas (1695- ), of the Choctaw people, from Dauphine Island, Ala.
Jean is buried at La Belle Fontaine plantation in Pascagoula,Ms.

She is the 4th Great Granddaughter of Henry Overstreet (1705- ) and Anne from Great Britian. They came to America on Feb. 05, 1736 aboard the London Merchant, and joined the James Oglethorpe Colony, near Augusta, Ga.
