Mrs. Lashly was born December 24, 1929 in Sharkey County, Mississippi to Abner James and Mabel (Wilkes) Adams, and died Monday, May 28, 2012 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Lashly came to Lufkin in the late 1940s to attend the Pineywoods Business School. This is when she met and married her husband, T.D. Lashly. Mrs. Lashly was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dee Turner of Lufkin; granddaughter, Kristen Turner of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She was also the last of six siblings, having been preceded by Mamie Adams, Joseph Adams, Frank Adams, James Adams and Frances Steinwinder.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
