Jerry attended high school in Independence and was employed by National Alfalfa as a truck driver and mechanic and then in the oil fields, and most recently by Cobalt Boats.
He married Tammi Marie Jesberger on June 14, 1995 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by grandparents Bruce and Violet Howland and Lloyd "Dutch" and Cleo Hutchison.
