Here are my notes for John, from his entry in my family tree file- Rick Waggener:

The following was published by the Kentucky Historical Society (date unknown), and sent to me by Lou Cowherd. It was part of a biography of John's son James J. Waggener:

"... John Waggener, his father, was a Virginian, born in Culpeper County in 1801, and came to Kentucky in 1805, with his parents, who located in Adair County, where John grew to manhood, and in 1822 married Cassandra Tobin, daughter of Robert and Sallie (Hardin) Tobin, of Washington County, Kentucky.

He afterward removed to Hart County, and located on Green River; most of his life was spent in agricultural pursuits, though he was for some years proprietor of a saw-mill, flouring-mill and cotton factory at Glenbrook (now Rio), Hart County. His wife, Cassandra, died in 1863 at the age of sixty years: of her twelve children eleven are yet living: Mary (Savage), Harriet (Carden), Melvina (Lafferty), Rosa (Hibaugh), James J. and Luther, residents of Hart County; Sallie (Emerson), of Webster County, Neb; Martha (White) of Warren County, Ky., Robert H. of Louisville, and John T., of Knox County, Ill. John Waggener died in 1873 in Hart County. ..."

(John's parents were John Waggener [1765-1830] and Sarah "Sally" Garnett [1763- 1829]- Rick Waggener)

John is buried with his wife Cassandra and a number of children and relatives, in the Waggener Cemetery. This was apparently originally known as the Luther B. Waggener Farm Cemetery, and was apparently on his son's farm. This is a reportedly the current farm of Mitchell Timberlake, and I believe the address is 2884 Johnson Springs Road, Munfordville, Hart County, Kentucky.

The inscription on his tombstone reads:
