Wain, as he was called by family, was the son of Daniel Raymond Rogers and Mildred Virginia Griffin. He was a brother to Joan S. Rogers, James R. Rogers, Danielle R. Rogers-Rose, Virginia N. Rogers-Gregor and Margaret S. Rogers-Ash. He also had two half brothers, Albert Laurence Rogers and Daniel Fredrick Rogers.
He served in the US Navy and among his various stations he served on the USS Mullany. For nearly 35 years my mother had lost contact with him. She had always wondered and worried about him. When she found out she was terminally ill she asked me to find him. I took her to see him, he too was ill. It was a bittersweet reunion but one that I'm so glad my mother and Wain got to make. He was a very sweet and kind man and he as at peace now.
