Leslie J. Rochefort, 61, of Munising, died Friday, at the Woods Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee. He had been ill since August.

Born Dec. 24, 1923, in Nahma. He moved from Fayette to Munising in 1959. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy, and was a member of the Chatham Veterens of Foreign Wars. He was a retired woods worker and commercial fisherman.

Survivors include his wife Mae M. (Gollakner) whom he married in 1942: three sons Norman of Milwaukee,Steven of Munising and Leslie Jr. of Christmas; seven daughters; Mrs. James (Betty) Richardson of Shingleton,Mrs. Andy (Linda) Demogola of Munising, Mrs. Ismah (Sharon) Albright of Ash Fork, Az., Mrs. Scott (Shirley) Stone and Mrs.Willard (Darlene) Seyers both of Munising, Mrs. Ken (Patricia) VanDorn of Bay City, and Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Savola of Christmas.

Also surviving are five brothers Norman of Garden, Eli of Grand Marais, Stanley of Alpena, Ivan of Cooks, and Richard of Winnebago, Minn.; six sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Stella) Plante of Manistique, Mrs. Ed (Ellen) McQuire of Cheboygan, Lorna Cutler of Escanaba, Mrs. James (Ione) Collins of Fayette, Mrs. Norb (Rose Anne) Castine of Detroit, Sister Adriette Rochefort of Hibing,Minn.: 29 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren,an Aunt; An uncle; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandson Daryl Rochefort,Paul Rochefort, Dennis Rochefort,Norman Rochefort, James Richardson, Bobby Richardson Andy Demogola and David Martenies.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, With Rev Raymond F. Moncher officiating. Burial will be held in Maple Grove Cmetery in Munising.

Friends can call at the Bowerman Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today. A parish vigil service is slated for 7 p.m.
