Robert Ralph Hillegass 39, of Trexlertown, died November 16, 1997 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Allentown April 16, 1958, he was the son of Joanne (Highland) Hillegass and the late Robert Ralph Hillegass Sr, who died December 1, 1996. He enlisted in the Army after graduating from Southern Lehigh High School, Coopersburg,class of 1976. He did basic training at Fort Dix, and then was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Robert (Bobby) was a Sgt. in the US Army serving in Germany. Robert died from a deadly virus known as Hantia Virus. His was the first known case in the State of Pennsylvania. He loved hunting and fishing. Robert is survived by his Mother, common-law wife Stella Corra, son Robert Ralph Hillegass III. Brothers Bruce of Coopersburg, Scott of Northampton. Sisters Susan Masters, Robin Fuller, Penny Link all of Emmaus, and Dolores Norris of Allentown. Goddaughter Tracy Ann Fuller. He was preceded in death by an infant sister Tracy Ann Hillegass.
