The son of Siegel and Betty Conger, Lowell Edward Conger was born Sept. 10, 1899, at Cincinnati, Iowa and died April 21, 1961 at a Grinnell hospital following a three-year illness. He was next to the youngest of eight children. He came to Brooklyn in 1910. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Patten June 9, 1923, and four children were born to the couple. He farmed for many years and in 1932 he moved to Missouri where he farmed until 1943 when he left to spend a year in Colorado. In 1944 he returned to Missouri where he lived until 1948 when he came back to Iowa. He is survived by his former wife, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Lou) Thompson of Grinnell and Mrs. Branford (Alice) Hutchinson of Waterloo, one brother, Ira Conger of Grants Pass, Ore., and eight grandchildren. Two infant sons preceded him in death.
