Abigail Robinson Camp Porter was born in Stowe, Lamoille Co, VT. She was the daughter of Dr. Joseph and Hannah Robinson. Abigail was a young widow when she she came with her brother in law, Dr. Jared Wheelock to be the hotel housekeeper for the townsite company in 1856. She left her her young son Cassius Camp in VT, he later joined her, as did her father Joseph Robinson, her sister Mary(Dr. Wheelock's wife),sister Annette Robinson Seaver and brother, Tarrent Robinson. Abigail married Thomas Porter another original settler to Clearwater in about 1856.
