ROY – Janice Hofheins Adair of Roy, Utah, passed away early Saturday morning, May 29, 2010, at home surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.
Janice Meredith Hofheins Adair was born on April 3, 1925, in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Newell Clinton Hofheins and Zelma Meredith Hofheins. They lived in American Fork and Copperfield. They moved to Copperton and lived in the houses that Utah Copper built. Janice graduated form Bingham High School in 1944.
She attended St. Marks Nursing School. The United States Army Cadet Nurse Corp came in and paid for tuition and uniforms. She graduated from nursing school in 1946.
In February of 1947, she married Hal R. Adair in Santa Monica, California. They were blessed with five daughters. They were married for 63 years. They lived in Salt Lake, Seattle, Ogden, and Roy.
Janice worked for several years at the Ogden Clinic, where she was the nursing supervisor.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Adams (Evan) of Layton, Susan Butters (Scott) of Bountiful, Terry Maw of Roy, Karen Hodson of Austin Texas, Cindy Hill (Jerry) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Jack Hofheins and Richard Hofheins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 12:00 noon at the Roy 16th Ward, 4524 South 2525 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Saturday from 9:45 – 11:45 a.m., prior to services at the church.
Interment in the Roy City Cemetery.
