George Travie Henry was born to parents Walter Raleigh Henry and Annie Lou Flake Henry on August 29, 1922 while the family resided in Taylor County. His siblings were Edna 9/10/11; John 7/14/14; James 8/1/15; Alice 1/5/18; Walter "Buddy" 3/22/20; he was next; Rachel 6/29/25; Harold "Hal" 6/2/28; Zachary 4/25/30; Annie Lou 6/22/32. George married Pamela Brown Carpenter on September 28, 1946 in Norfolk VA while her served in the US Navy in the Medical Corp. The family moved to Barnesville GA where he set up his medical practice in 1951. They raised ten children. One preceded him in leaving for heaven, his son Ben in 1971. He was well respected in his family and community. He was active in his church and was a Gideon. These name only a few of his life long accomplishments. He is missed by all who loved him. I married into the extended family in 1969 and am thankful to have known him. If any of his more immediate family would like to manage this memorial and rewrite this bio please let me know. His wife , Pamela lived to be 101 and passed away on Feb. 1, 2023.
