Joseph J. Dieter, 48, a retired trooper with the Illinois State Police, died Monday in Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey.
He was most recently a resident of Tinley Park; a Vietnam veteran, Joe joined the state police on June 6, 1968, he retired on January 31, 1993. He served in District 4 Crestwood for over 24 years as a state trooper.
Joe also was a part-time firefighter for the Calumet Park Fire Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Jo and Tami Lynn; his mother, Virginia Dieter; a brother and two sisters.
Services were held Thursday, December 22nd.
Internment: Private.
