Services for D. Fern Everett McDowell will be held at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 with Pastor Dale Turner officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the American Legion Cemetery in Madill, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday before the service. Mrs. McDowell passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 in a Longview hospital.
Mrs. McDowell was born in Linn, Oklahoma on June 22, 1919 to Charles and Lucy Payne.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Mobberly Church of Christ for many years and presently a member of Pine Tree Church of Christ. She loved cooking for her family and her friends.


Mrs. McDowell is preceded in death by her first husband Joe Winston Everett; second husband J.S.T. McDowell; four brothers and 3 sisters.


She is survived by her daughter Donna Reed and husband David; Step-daughter Eve Osbakken and her husband Tom; granddaughter Kelly Reed, grandson Christopher Reed and his wife Karen; great-grandson Matthew Reed, great-granddaughter Allison Reed; step-daughter-in-law and friend Delores McDowell and grandson John S. McDowell; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Malcolm Baushke.
