From "The Mound City News"-December 11, 1903:
"Miss Margaret Cone was born April 19, 1823, in Pennsylvania. She was married in 1852 to T. Berry and was the mother of two children, both of whom preceded her to the spirit land. She confessed her Savior in 1884, and united with the M.E. church, of which she was a faithful member until death called her.
For fifteen years she made her home at John Q. Shepards and the last four years had lived at Mr. Slater's. She had accumulated some more than enough to pay her funeral expenses, which she bequeathed to the M.E. church. She had no relatives. The funeral was held Sunday at the M.E. Church."-Bigelow Enterprise.
