Ellen Frame was born in Bothwell, Lanarshire, Scotland. She married James Gold. Together they had 5-children, (Daniel, Isabella, John F, Helen, and James C). James Gold Sr., died at the age of 37 from heart disease. Ellen later married Daniel Ferguson and gave birth to Margaret Frame Ferguson. Ellen also gave birth to two more children, (George Stoddart & Grace), but their father was never documented on the birth certifcate for George Stoddart Gold. Ellen migrated to America in March/1888 at the request of her two brothers (One being Robert Frame buried in Beechtree), who were recruited to the coal mines in Coal Glen, PA. Ellen arrived later bringing only 4-children, (James Clarkson Gold Jr, Margaret Frame Ferguson Gold-Kane, George Stoddart Gold, and Grace Gold), settling in the Coal Glen, PA area. Ellen was known as the local mid-wife. During her life in Coal Glen her son John F Gold who came to America later died in Coal Glen. Ellen erected a head stone in Beachtree in memory of her son John F Gold. Ellen is buried in Beachtree next to her son John F Gold and behind the Kane Family were her daughter Margaret Frame Ferguson-Kane is buried with her family.
