From Der Nord Westen, 25 Mar. 1909:
Last week we reported that Jacob Drumm had to go to a local hospital to have a toe amputated. Unfortunately the operation did not have the hoped for result and the patient, who suffered from sugar diabetes, died on Saturday. Mr. Drumm, who was 60, had lived a long period in Manitowoc County where he operated a farm near Brown's Corners. He was
a veteran of the Civil War and leaves a widow and 2 children. The funeral was held Tuesday."
