Opal Carroll Flanagan Green was the daughter of Elias Carroll Flanagan and Luvena Ann Dykes Flanagan. She married Edward Howard "Uncle Poppy" Green on May 2, 1936 (his birthday) in San Angelo, TX, Tom Green Co. They had 1 daughter. Aunt Opal was our families life of the party with her contageous laugh. Uncle Poppy was a brother to my mother, Ruth Green Bateman.

Opal F. Green, 96, of Memphis, retired office clerk from Railway Express, died Tuesday at Senior Services Health Care Center. Services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery East.
She was a member of Raleigh Church of Christ. Mrs. Green, the widow of E. Howard Green, leaves a daughter, Carol Green Hendrix of Memphis; a sister, Doris Flanagan Key of Comfort, Texas, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Sunny Glen Children's Home in San Benito, Texas.
