William Edwin ("Bill" or "Willie") Abel passed away on May 30, 2012 with his family by his side as a result of injuries sustained from a vehicle accident. Born September 4, 1945 in Colusa, Calif., Bill was raised in Williams, Calif. where he called home until he retired in 2007 and moved to Billings, Montana.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Gerry Abel of Billings, Montana; children, son Michael (Jennifer) Abel and daughters Kara (John) Alvernaz and Kristi (Brent) Ward all of Williams. He was "Papa" to his seven grandchildren, Jacob and Sierra Abel, Bobby, Danielle and Kelsie Alvernaz and Allison and Ryan Ward.
Bill is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Laux Abel; sister, Shirlee Keffer of Billings, Montana; stepdaughters, Dennielle (Matt) deHeras and Dena (Greg) Uhrig; and their daughters, Madelyn Uhrig and Allie de Heras.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Abel.
Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at the Williams Cemetery.
