Bjorn Knutsen Rye (Ben Benson)and his first wife, Kirsti immigrated from Norway in 1870 and settled in Clifton Township, Grant County, Wisconsin.

After Kirsti's death in 1878 her husband, Ben Benson married Kari Gulbrandsatter Andersen 30 June 1880 in Castle Rock, Grant County, Wisconsin.

Ben and Kirsti Benson had 5 sons and one daughter.
