She was born to WILLIAM BARTH, and ANNIE LEES. She was a graduate of Sophie B. Wright School in New Orleans; later attending LSU, where she was a member of the Phi Mu sorority. She was an active member of St. Julia's Guild, St. Martin's Episcopal Church, the Metairie Woman's Club and the co-founder of the Red Hat Society BB. A golf enthusiast, Katherin was a member and past president of The Ladies Golf Association of Colonial Country Club and Chateau Country Club. She enjoyed her Saturday Bridge group, and also played at the Bridge Center in Matairie. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband of 54 years, Dr. Henry C. Melius. Katherine was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 2216 Metairie Road in Metairie, Louisana.
