Daniel Jonathan Rogers was the son of Daniel Albert Rogers and Louisa Nottley. He married his first Margaret Mae Taylor, daughter of Frank Newton Taylor and Flora Ann Mitcham in Bexar County, Texas. They had three sons, Daniel Raymond Rogers, George Rogers (b.1914-d.1915) and Robert Richard Rogers. He and Margaret divorced and he later married Margaret Dunlop-Donaldson.

D.J. as he was called by family and friends Served in the US ARMY during WWI. He inlisted at Ft. Slocum, West Chester County, NY and Dischared at Ft. Brown, Bexar County, Texas.

He worked for both Ford and later General Motors as a Pattern Maker.
