Ignacio Acuna Jr, 21, of 12150 FM78 in Northeast Bexar County was dead on arrival at Green Hospital at 2 a.m. Thursday.
Sheriff's investigators said Acuna was celebrating the birth of his daughter when he got into an argument with his father-in-law, Reynaldo Ramirez, 36, of 4123 Waikiki Drive.
Acuna went into the bedroom as the father-in-law left the house, officers said.
Shots were fired through the bedroom window, striking Acuna once in the chest.
Ramirez was arrested and charged with murder before Night Magistrate Manuel Lopez.
He is being held in county jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
