Stephen B. Lenoir, beloved companion, father, grandpa, brother and nephew passed away on May 13, 2012 at the age of 68 years at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, after a prolonged battle with bladder cancer.

Steve was born on January 3, 1944 in Belcourt, Rolette County, North Dakota, to Bernard and Mary (DeLong) Lenoir.
Steve was known as Junior in childhood by friends and family. He was raised and educated in Belcourt, North Dakota up until 1954 when the family moved to Marty, South Dakota. He started high school at Mary Mission and finished in Stephan, South Dakota. He married Jo Ann Sullivan on May 18, 1963 at Pius X Catholic Church in Bangor, Pennsylvania. They temporarily resided in Cleveland, Ohio where Steve had attended welding school prior to being married. Steve and JoAnn then moved to Pierre, South Dakota, where they welcomed their first three children, Steve, Ann and Jim. In 1966, Steve and JoAnn moved to Southern California, where they were to welcomne three more children, Mark, Mary amd Amie. Steve and the family suffered the loss of their beloved wife and mother on August 3, 1976. Steve would often look to his parents for help in raising his children.

Steve worked as an Iron Worker in Southern California for most of his career. In 1996 Steve began a dedicated relationship with Violet Ingersoll, a family friend he had known for 33 years. Together they lived in Garden Grove, California for four years and moved to Lamar, Arkansas in 2000. Steve worked as a part-time security guard and enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with Violet and enjoyed the company of his dog, Zoie.

Steve will be remembered by his family as a spirited soul with a keen wit; by his friends as a kind and humorous personality; by his co-workers as a craftsman in his trade; and by Violet Indersoll as the love of her life.

Steve is survived by his six chilren: Steve, Ann, Jim, Mark, Mary and Amie; ten grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters: Wally Lenoir, Dorie Navin, Helen Sweeney, Jim Lenoir, Eileen Milsaps, Donna Marciano and Tessie Warren; aunt, Leona Olson; and his long-time companion: Violet Ingersoll. He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn (1976); his parents; two brothers: Edward (1941) and Richard (1977); two sisters: Bernice Lenoir (1978) and Patricia Lenoir (2004).

There will be private services held on June 15th at St. John, the Baptist Church in Baldwin Park, California. His ashes will be spread on the Central Coast of California, at Montana de Oro, a place Steve would often go to relax, reflect and enjoy the natural coastal beauty.
