Robert T. A. Park's grave is marked by a "Woodmen of the World" headstone. In some genealogies he is known as Robert Theron Arnold Park and sometimes referred to as Robert Toombs Park or Robert Tooms Park (Tooms is his brother Bulow's spelling). Robert was the husband of Kittie Banta Park who is buried at Council Hill, Oklahoma. Circumstances surrounding Robert T. A. Park's death can be found in two articles in the "The Shawnee Daily News-Herald" newpaper (Shawnee, Oklahoma). One article is titled "Suicide Ends Career of Robt Park" on June 17, 1915 and the other is titled "Dead Man Was Well To Do Was Indicated" on June 18, 1915.

Since there are various "backgrounds" told by him to different ones of his children, and since none of them have checked out in records, it is uncertain whether or not he knew very much about his parents. His half-sister had told Robert's son, Cleve, that Robert was the son of "unknown" Park and Matilda Stokes. It has been said that "unknown" Park was a noted lawyer from Georgia who died near Waco, Texas before 1870. Robert had two brothers, Sidney and Bulow. After "unknown" Park's death, their mother Matilda married John Henry Davis on May 7, 1870 in Bell Co., Texas. Matilda and Mr. Davis had a daughter, Matilda Jane "Mattie" Davis, who was born October, 16, 1872. Two days after the birth of Mattie, Robert's mother died. Mr. Davis placed the boys in three different foster homes in Bowie, Texas and took Mattie back to Arkansas so that his family could help raise her.

According to family history, Robert ran away from home when he was 10 years old. There is also some question as to Robert's date of birth. Robert used May 5, 1861 as his date of birth but that birthdate is questionable since Robert had a brother --Sidney Hamilton Park --whose birthdate was December, 1861.(Robert would be 7 months older than his brother Sidney). The "Texas Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 and 1966-2002" shows that Robert Park was 18 yrs and Kittie Banta 15 yrs when they were married on September 10, 1879. Kittie's father, William Banta officiated at the wedding. According to Hamilton, Texas marriage records, R.T.A. Park married Kittie Banta on September 7, 1879 and the groom's place of birth is recorded as Arkansas.
