"MISS IDA VARE BURIED
Hundreds Pay Tribute to Young Woman Who Died in China
With hundreds of friends in attendance to pay her tribute Miss Ida May Vare, daughter of Representative and Mrs. William S. Vare, was buried yesterday afternoon, from the home of her father, 2304 South Broad street. She died in Pekin, China, while touring the Orient with her parents on the Congressional tour.
Among the tributes was a resolution of the East End Republican Club of the Twenty-sixth Ward, that attested her charm and graces. An engrossed copy was sent to her parents. The rooms in the lower floor of the house were filled with floral pieces.
The ceremonies were conducted by Rev. John Edmund Hill of the All Saints' Episcopal Church, Tenth street and Snyder avenue. Interment was in West Laurel Hill cemetery.
Among those who sent floral tributes were Mrs. E. T. Stotesbury, former Mayor Thomas B. Smith, Receiver of Taxes W. Freeland Kendrick, Senator Samuel Salus, Recorder of Deeds James M. Hazlett and former Sheriff Harry C. Ransley."
