Reta Reedy, 73, died Sunday August 30, 1998, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a Lee County native and lived in Tupelo most of her life. She was retired from Deposit Guaranty Bank. She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church east of Plantersville. She was the widow of Robert W. "Bob" Reedy who died November 8, 1988.
Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Jim Manor, the Rev. Sam Hamilton and the Rev. Tom Cupit officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Mac Reedy of Tupelo and Bobby Joe Reedy and his wife Diane, of Tupelo; one grandson, Scotty Jo Reedy and his with Michelle, of Belden; one great-granddaughter Anna Kathryn Reedy of Belden; one sister Pansy Boozer of Plantersville; one sister-in-law Mary Ann Murff of Knoxville, Tennessee nd her caregiver, Laverne Swindle of Tupelo.
Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Doug Davis, Jo David Shumpert, Willie Rushing, richard Rushing, Randy Boozer and Barry Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Rogers, Leon Davis, Willie Shumpert, and John R. Westmoreland.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00pm today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
